When many of today's local Chicago area television viewers hear the name "Svengoolie", they think about local Chicago television actor and comedian Rich Koz. However...Rich Koz is not Chicago's original "Svengoolie" tv horror show host.
Chicago's original Svengoolie, was Jerry G. Bishop, who hosted a Saturday night tv horror show on Channel 32 WFLD TV in Chicago from 1972 to 1974 entitled "Screaming Yellow Theatre".
Here is Jerry G. ishop as a very Hippie Like Svengoolie, doing a comedy bit between the movies and commercials on Screaming Yellow Theatre in 1973.
