From 1972 after buying out the former Illinois Northern Railroad ( an A,T,& S,F Subsidiary), untill the year of 2000, this line featured Monday to Friday service from Corwith Yard to western Avenue. Today the line only operates between the BNSF Corwith Yard, to the New End of Track approximately 70 Feet east of South Spaulding Avenue. There are only One or Two customers left on this line, and are switched only "As Needed" by this DRS Rail Services EMD Switcher parked inside a chain link fence south of West 31st Street.
Todays I.N Branch is only a shadow of it's former self.
