I took this photo back in early April of 2007. Big changes were on the drawing board in 2007 for Brighton Junction. Preparations for new automatic signals were already in place on the property by the time I had taken this early springtime photograph. By the week of the fourth of July 2007, Chicago's historic manual steam era railroad junction at Archer and Western Avenues would close. This view is looking northeast toward the operators little shanty, and the old manual semaphore signals.
