I took this photo looking northeast, from the 25th Avenue overpass bridge in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois. Seen here switching a large cut of cars on a very hot August day, are two IHB EMD Roadswitchers. The front locomotive is wearing the new orange color scheme that was introduced in 2005, while the second unit wears the older scheme that was introduced in the mid 1980's. The sun was beating down strongly that day with a 96 Degree outside temperature. The steamy humidity was unbearable, and I was glad that I took a bottle of water with Me to this photo location.
