I was definately in the right place at the right time, when I took this candid behind the scenes photograph. The large narrow guage railroad, does not posses a coaling tower. The coal is piled at this location near the end of the run enroute to the Hesston Junction station. A John Deere front end loader, raises a bucket full of coal to the crewmember standing on top of the locomotive sidetanks. The crewmember then stratigically shovels the coal into a storage bunker directly in front of the locomotive cab. The locomotive shown here, is a meter guage industrial 0-4-0 T from Czechloslovakia, built in 1940.
