The local public schools had just closed for summer vacation approximately one week earlier, and now the Kiddieland Amusement Park in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois was begining their summer weeknight season. I remember Kiddie Land! Do you remember Hawthorn Melody Farms?? I have a photo of a small steam engine from that amusement park in 1965 as well as some other pics of vintage transportation on my blog
