Seen here in the foreground is an experimental 3 unit articulated rapid transit train circa 1945, from the Chicago Rapid Transit Company. After the November 1947 creation of the Chicago Transit Authority, this train worked over various lines of the CTA Rapid Transit system, untill eventually being assigned to the Skokie Swift in the 1960's. They ended their days in service on the Skokie Swift / CTA Yellow Line during the mid 198o's. The little Coleman Grove flagstop depot also serves as the museum gift shop. This is a pleasant place to take Your family on a weekend outing.
