One of My happiest memorys this summer, was the July 21st, 2007 roadtrip outing My Wife Cheryl and I had taken to the Hesston steam Museum , located in northwest Indiana near New Buffalo Michigan. A two foot meter guage 0-8-0 outside frame steam locomotive originally from East Germany, waits at the Hesston junction depot alongside a 14 inch guage 4-6-4 miniature live steam locomotive. An interesting comparison. Lots of coal smoke and whistle blowing here. The open coaches behind the German steam locomotive, are originally from Chicago's Brookfield Zoo railroad.Thursday, August 30, 2007
