I took this photo in August of 1986, on a family outing to a steam threshing meet in Sycamore Illinois. The Taylor / Marshall farm , was holding an annual steam threshers association meet. Here I enjoyed a parade of antique steam and gas powered tractors, antique cars and trucks, and even a 7 and 1/2 inch guage miniature live steam train ride on the property. The railroad itself, was a mere oval of track. The train would go around it twice on each run. This locomotive, is a scale model of a 4-4-2 Atlantic Type steam locomotive. Atlantic type steam locomotives were used on short -light passenger trains during the steam era. Some railroads used these on local freight trains during their final operating days.
