I took this photo one morning in August of 2007. An eastbound Union Pacific auto rack train waits on a hold order, while a northbound transfer train on the overhead Belt Railway of Chicago north / south -trunk line waits for clearance at Cragin Junction. The ground leval mainline is the Union Pacific ex Chicago & Northwestern Railroad -"West Line". These are two very busy Chicago railroad lines inside the windy city. The gutted out looking building to the right, is the abandoned Brach's Candy Factory. This photo was taken looking west along where West Kinzie Street meets North Kenton Avenue on Chicago's westside.
