I took this photo looking north, from the Metra commuter rail station in near northwest suburban River Forest Illinois. This rail line was originally the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad, prior to the 1998 merger and absorbtion by the Union Pacific Railroad. This commuter rail line is now the Metra / Union Pacific -West line to Elburn Illinois. During the years of Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad ownership, this line only operated as far west as Geneva Illinois. River Forest Illinois is a pleasant and upscale community located just west of Oak Park Illinois.Monday, August 06, 2007
