I took this photo from the Halsted Street bridge near West Chicago Avenue. This large crane travels on very wide broad guage rails, and transloads gravel and construction materials from barges on the Chicago River. This is a very active facility in Chicago for construction company giant Prairie Materials. Cement is manufactured and shipped from this facility.
