The early part of Febuary 2008 found the greater Chicagoland area being hit with heavy lake effect snowstorms. This display of antique railroad equipment at Veterans Park in Bensenville Illinois, shows the powdery effects of a heavy snowstorm that struck the night before.
At the head end of the display facing Main Street, is Chicago Gravel Company # 18, a 1922 built steam switching locomotive from the American, Locomotive Company ( ALCO.), followed by a Milwaukee Road passenger car and a bay window caboose. It was a heavy task, but Bensenville did eventually dig out from the aftermath of it all.
