I took this photo looking east, from the Metra commuter rail depot in Schiller Park Illinois. A southbound Canadian National freight train, is seen slowly leaving the former Wisconsin Central yard with many Canadian National boxcars in tow.Notice the yellow reflective safety tape on the sides of the exterior post boxcars. This is used to prevent night time accidents at railroad crossings, by increasing mid train safety and visibility. Some motorists occasionally plow into moving freight trains at night or in fog.
