I took this photo on a dreary and cold Saturday afternoon, in Febuary of 1986. We are looking south at the intersection of South Kedzie Avenue, West 79th Street, and Southwest Highway -AKA Columbus Drive in Chicago's Ashburn and Wrightwood neighborhoods. A Norfolk Southern EMD roadswitcher with a former Norfolk & Western caboose acquired through the 1982 Norfolk & Western / Southern Railroad merger, are seen pulling a cut of container cars foreward out of Landers Yard. Prior to 1964, this was a Wabash Railroad facility on Chicago's southwest side.
