Westbound Metra commuter train arriving in Oak Lawn Illinois. March 2007.

I took this photo one day after work, back in March of 2007.

We are facing south on South Cicero Avenue / Illinois U.S Route # 50 just north of the intersection at Southwest Highway, in southwest suburban Oak Lawn Illinois USA.

A Metra evening rush hour local commuter train enroute to Manhatten Illinois over the Norfolk Southern railroad's ex Wabash line, slows for the station stop at Oak Lawn.

I was there two years ago and i was impressed. Unfortunately i had no time to visit it very well because i was there for only two days, but i hope to visit it again very soon. I recommend this place, it is very nice.

I lived in Oak Lawn from 1990 to 1993 with My Family.

I used to love getting together with My friends, and having breakfast on the weekend at Veli's Koffy Kup Restaurant on 95th Street, wich unfortunately is gone now. I could remeber soft serve ice cream cones at Primo's, as well as Hot Dogs and Pizza Puffs at U.S Deputy Dogs, wich also is long gone and replaced by a TGI Fridays Restaurant.

I used to skate on Sunday nights occasionally at the Oak Lawn Roller Rink during it's last few years in business...but some of the people who went there were not very friendly. Some acted like they were quiete "Stuck Up" and "Snooty".

Still, My Oak Lawn experience was a good one during the early 1990's.

Thanks.
