A local and popular railroad themed diner restaurant in Chicago's northwest suburbs, is the Choo Choo Restaurant seen here in downtown Des Plaines Illinois. This quaint little neighborhood diner, is a big hit with Children, Families and Railfans alike.If You requuest it, You can have Your meal entree delivered to You at the sit down counter via a Lionel O-Gauge model train. The food is tasty and quiete inexpensive here. The local Children seen to really love it here. The restaurant is located two blocks north of the Des Plaines Metra commuter rail station.

I am very sad to hear another of our "landmarks" are being torn down. Our memories are being torn down as well. If the choo choo isn't a landmark it should be. My husband who is 60 yrs. remembers going there with his cousins. Our children and grandchild LOVE their hotdogs for the friendly workers and watching the food come down the tracks. Don't take our childrens and future children's memories away.
Instead of destroying this little site that gives homage to simple family traditions, the City of Des Plaines could confiscate one of the several sites it has where abortions are being performed. What kind of town is Des Plaines?
