I took this photograph this past Wednsday night, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club in Oak Park Illinois.

Covered hoppers are a daily sight coupled on to any given freight train passing through Chicago, and other Midwestern citties through out North America.

This is an H.O scale model of a 1960's and 70's era Pulman Standard Company 52 foot covered hopper, from the former Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad.

These cars are mainly used for grain shipments.
