A former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio locomotive acquired through merger in 1972, leads an Illinois Central Gulf transfer train through the swing bridge.

I took this photograph last week, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club in Oak Park Illinois.

I enjoy modeling the everyday American freight trains that I grew up with in Chicago from the 1960's and 70's era.

My 1970's era Illinois Central Gulf freight train being pulled by a former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad locomotive acquired through merger in 1972, enters a swing bridge over an unscenicked river scene on the club layout.

Thanks.
