The attractive and short lived early 1950's era Rock Island EMD GP 7 freight service color scheme.

Photographed at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale
Model Railroad Club in Oak Park Illinois.

This prototype paint scheme from the former Chicago, Rock Island
& Pacific Railroad, was introduced in the early 1950's. Although
attractive, it was difficult and expensive to maintain. A solid and
very utilitarian maroon color scheme, replaced this color scheme
by the end of the 1950's, mostly because of maintenance costs.
