Grand Trunk Western 0-8-0 steam switcher locomotive # 8346. Chicago Illinois. 10-29-1949. Dennis Schmidt photograph.

I found this photograph at my Link page Fallen Flags,Org,
which is located to the right of your computer screen at -

The steam era was winding down in America during the
1940's and 50's era, as diesel locomotives were replacing
the old coal and oil burning steam locomotives. The GTW,
was a late user of steam locomotives, retirning their last ones,
during the early 1960's.

Steam switcher locomotive # 8346, was photographed more
than likely, at the Grand Trunk Western's Elsdon Yard near
West 51st Street, on the southwest side of Chicago.
