I found this classic American steam era locomotive photograph,
at my Link page Fallen Flags.Org, which is located to the right
of your computer screen at www.rr-fallenflags.org
The Northern Pacific Railroad, which is one of the predescessor
railroads that make up today's might BNSF Railway, was a late
user of steam locomotives. Operating them in to the mid 1950's
in daily revenue operations, and in to the late 1950's on steam
powered mainline fantrip chartered excursion trains.
Locomotive # 2177 shown here, was a passenger service engine,
and more than likely, brought many families and relatives on
Christmas holiday visits, to friends and relatives houses from
Minnesota, to the Pacific northwest states.
