1959 CTA Flxible/ Twin Coach Co 35ft propane bus. The Midwest Transit Bus Museum. Cresthill Illinois USA. January 2001.

I took this photo on location in the town of Cresthill Illinois near the city of Joliet.
Seen here is a 1959 propane powered transit coach built by the Flxible /Twin Coach Company. This was from the last order of propane buses for the Chicago Transit Authority, and was retired around 1973. It spent it's last year of CTA service wearing this homemade "Christmas Mural", wich was hand painted by one of Chicago's high schools. This bus is operable, and has a full interior. I rode these old buses growing up in the city of Chicago -during their final years of operation on Chicago's city streets.

Eddie - I designed and helped paint this bus in 1973. I'd love to get a better scan and additional shots if you have'em. Is this possible ? Thank ! J.J. Sedelmaier
