1961 CTA Flxible fishbowl transit bus. The Midwest Transit Bus Museum. Cresthill Illinois USA. January 2001.

I had taken this photo in January of 2001, in Cresthill Illinois near the city of Joliet.
This former CTA bus, was last used as a mobile election voting center at some time during the 1980's. This is a 1961 Flxible "New Look",transit coach wich were also called "Fishbowls" because of there unique windshield design. The unusual side windows give this bus away, as being from the Chicago Transit Authority's first order for new look Flxible buses. The Flxible fishbowls were retired from CTA service in 1986, but the ones from the 1961 order were actually the first ones to go from the CTA roster during the mid to late 1970's. This bus had it's seats removed and obtained a new makeshift blue paint job for Mobile Election Poling Place service before retirement.
