Caboose preservation. Hodgkins Illinois USA.
I took this evening photo after work, on location is southwest suburban Hodgkins Illinois just outside of the village of Countryside Illinois.
This retired Atchinson, Topeka, & Santa Fe caboose, is now part of a display called the Santa Fe Prairie, wich is along River Road.

A loose-knit local prairie preservation group has access to the caboose and has opened it for visitors on many Saturdays. I haven't been inside in a couple years but it has been fun to spend time inside.
The location used to relatively out of the way, but the access road is now paved and a bypass bridge is near by, making things a little more hemmed in. Still, the Des Plaines River is right there and it's a fun visit.
