Westbound Amtrak at Argo Junction. December 1990.

Not all of the winter weather in Chicago is nasty, brutally cold , or icy. Sometimes there are lenghty periods of mild weather and sunshine.
I was on location at Argo Junction in southwest suburban Summit Illinois one saturday afternoon, in December of 1990. Seen here racing past the long gone Argo Tower, is an Amtrak passenger train leaving Chicago Illinois USA. Argo Junction is located in suburban Summit Illinois. Here at this location, the Indianna Harbor Belt Railroad crosses the Canadian National Ex Illinois Central Railroad mainline. This photograph was taken on a lovely Saturday afternoon, with temperatures in the upper 40's.
The month of December was relatively mild in the year 1990, and I believe that Chicago had a "Brown" Christmas that year due to the warm temperatures and lack of snow until January.
