Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad electric interurban train heading southbound over the Skokie Valley Mainline. Skokie Illinois area circa 1950's.

I found this treally great historic Chicago area photograph, at My links page Dave's Electric Railroads to the right of Your computer screen.

I take it, that this photo may have been taken around the outskirts of north suburban Skokie Illinois, sometime during the 1950's.

Even with todays urban sprawl that has crept up around Chicago's northern suburbs, this area is still quiete scenic with all of the trees in the area.

This photo location, looks like it could have taken just east of Illinois U.S Route # 41 / Skokie Boulevard, on what is the CTA Yellow Line / Skokie Swift rapid transit line today.

In September of 2004, the Chicago Transit Authority converted this line to 100 percent third rail operation. The overhead catenary bridges are still standing for now along this route today.
