Hi everyone!
This is Eddie K, Your host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.
Part of the fun of viewing my blogsite, is that you may never know one day from the next what might pop up.
I occasionally enjoy putting on some music to add a little fun, and perhaps a happy memory or two.
Traditional American railroad songs, have always held a certain fascination for me, and help to add an entertaining demention to Eddie's Railfan Page. Railroad songs usually come in the form of Folk music, Country and Western, Jazz, and to some extent Rock and Roll.
One of my personal all time favorite country and western railroad songs, was one entitled "The Wabash Cannonball". This classic American railroad country and western song which was an exageration about the famous Wabash Cannonball passenger train from pre Amtrak times that traveled between Detroit Michigan and St. Louis Missouri, was originally recorded by the late great Roy Acuff many years ago.
Here is a version of the Wabash Cannonball like you have proboubly never heard before. A polka version?
Chicago was known as the railroad capitol of the nation, and many years ago, was proboubly the Polish / Etnic polka music capitol as well.
Thanks.
Eddie K.
