The Southern Pacific Railroad's famous "Daylight" passenger train color scheme.

One classic and very popular North American railroad passenger
train color scheme from pre Amtrak times that has always held a
fascination for me and many other railfans, was the very stylish
and unique 'Daylight" red, orange and black color scheme from the
former Southern Pacific Railroad. Used beginning during the late
1930's until the mid 1950's, this color scheme was a real attention
getter, and a traveling public favorite amongst many west coast -
passenger train travelers decades ago.

This color scheme, was applied to the S.P's premier deluxe flagship
passenger trains such as "The Coast Daylight, The Shasta Daylight,
The San Joaquian Daylight, as well as a handful of older passenger
train cars assigned to secondary connecting passenger trains.

Thanks.
