Chicago's "New" parking "Pay Boxes" wich have replaced traditional parking meters on Chicago's city streets. Chicago Illinois USA. March 2011., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I took this photo recently on West Taylor Street, in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood.
It's a new era in Chicago these days.
In areas where one has to actually pay to park, such as in commercial shopping districts along main streets...Parking Meters are now "Out", and these new Payboxes wich dispense reciepts with the time limit on them are "In".
Once You place the money in the machine, a ticket reciept is dispensed. You then place the ticket in plain view on Your cars dashboard. It's a new technology for Chicago's parking enforcement.
