One of Chicago's Wendella sightseeing excursion boats during the off season. Chicago Illinois. January 2007.

I took this photo, back in January of 2007.

When I was growing up in Chicago as a little boy many years ago, I used to wonder...."Where do Chicago's sightseeing boats go to during the Winter?"

This photo taken looking south from the west Webster Street bridge on the north branch of the Chicago River answered that question many years after the fact.

Except for the ones that are docked near Chicago's Navy Pier, many of Chicago's sightseeing boats from the Wendella, Mercury and various other charter sightseeing lines, are covered with plastic and moored here near North Ashland Avenue during the off season.

Seen here, is one of the sightseeing boats from the Wendella sightseeing boat company.
