A then very thin 27 year old Eddie K with his bicycle. Clarendon Hills Illinois. November 1989., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
This is Eddie K, our host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.
Believe it or not, many of my early railfan photographs that I had taken during the 1980's, were done so on location long before I would own my first car in 1991 by bicycle. I used to travel to some of these locations either by the Chicago Transit Authority or Pace bus routes, or by my trusty 12 speed 1987 General New Horizon mountain bike shown here.
Here I am enjoying a pleasant Sunday afternoon bike ride through west suburban Clarendon Hills Illinois, back in November of 1989.
Not only was the weather very pleasant and mild in the mid to upper 60's that day, but that thin guy that you see there...was actually me.
I was in top physical shape back then (No bus driver physique yet.), and had rode to Downers Grove Illinois from my old near southwest side Chicago neighborhood and back on my bike.
I took in some very nice lineside railfan photographs in nearby Hindsdale on the Burlington Northern Railroad that day.
True, no car just yet....but lots of Stamina!
Thanks.
Eddie K..
