A New York Central Railroad steam powered passenger train passing through the Missisippi River lift bridge., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I took this photograph last year, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club in Oak Park Illinois.
The legacy of the former New York Central Railroad, which advertised itself as "The Water Leval Route", is alive and well here today in H.O Scale on the club layout.
An MTH model of a 1940's era New York Central 4-8-2 "Mohawk" class steam locomotive, pulls a passenger train through the large Missisippi River lift bridge model, recreating a scene from America's railroad steam era.
