I took this photo from the north platform of the Brookfield Illinois Metra commuter rail station on Prairie Avenue. An eastbound BNSF loaded unit coal train is seen racing toward Chicago on a hot, humid and quiet Saturday afternoon in August of 2007. Notice the former BN EMD locomotives that are still wearing the late 1980's and early 1990's Burlington Northern Railroad colors and markings.
