While steam locomotives and electric streetcars have almost always took center stage in railway preservation circles, early first generatioon American diesel electric locomotives, have been getting their long overdue recognition in recent times as well.

Seen here, is a former Great Northern Railroad 1950's era EMD F-7 cab unit diesel electric locomotive. This long retired unit, is now proudly on display at Garibaldi Orgegon USA. It has even been cosmetically restored to it's original Great Northern paint scheme livery as delivered by EMD.
