The "New" Wood Dale Illinois Metra commuter rail station. Wednsday, March 2nd, 2011. a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
The last time I visited northwest suburban Wood Dale Illinois, was in September of 2007. During that visit, I photographed the former and quiete smaller Wood Dale Metra commuter rail station immediately adjacent on the south side West Irving Park Road / Illinois U.S Route # 19.
Many things have changed since that visit.
Seen here, is the "New" and much larger Wood Dale Illinois Metra commuter rail station. This depot with it's pleasant architecture, pleasant waiting room and tasteful clock tower, is a major improvement over the former tiny brick station that stood here until recently.
The Wood Dale station, serves Metra commuter trains on the Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road west line commuter route to Elgin Illinois.
