The demolition of the Marquette Theatre building on West 63rd Street and South Kedzie avenue. Chicago Illinois. August 1987.

I took this photo way back in August of 1987.

An era of neighborhood movie theatres is coming to an end at the corner of West 63rd Street and South Kedzie Avenue.

Seen here, is the rubble of the Marquette movie theatre. Notice that there were not any temporary construction site rental fences yet at demolition sites back in 1987.

I went to many a movie here with My family during the 1970's. Video rental stores largely put the movie theatres out of business during the 1980's.

Thanks.
