Eastbound CTA Skokie Swift train. Evanston IL. June 2011.

I photographed this digital live sound video recently, in north suburban Evanston Illinois USA.

An eastbound Chicago Transit Authority yellow line rapid transit train, is viewed
passing by west of Dodge Avenue. Prior to 1964, this route was the former Skokie Valley Mainline of the bankrupt Chicago, North Shore And Milwaukee Railroad. When the North Shore went out of business in January of 1963, the Chicago Transit Authority salvaged and rebuilt the 5 mile segment from Howard Street station in downtown Evanston Illinois, to the Dempster Street station in Skokie Illinois.

The line opened on April 30th, 1964, and was originally known as "The Skokie Swift" line.
