One of many railroads that had served the city of Chicago Illinois, as well as locations in the midwest, south and southwester regions of the United States, was the former Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad.

I can recall, that the Rock Island operated on the southeast side of Chicago, and introduced this maroon and yellow color scheme during the late 1960's.

This photo of a Rock Island EMD model GP 35 roadswitcher, was taken at Little Rock Arkansas USA during the year of 1976.
