I took this photo on New Years Eve back in December of 2009.
Chicago's Kiddieland Amusement Park in Melrose Park Illinois, had closed for good on Sunday, September 27th, 2009 after 81 years in operation.
A crew from DMD Demolition Contractors, is viewed removing the lightbulbs and neon tubing from the large roadside Kiddieland sign prior to the park's upcoming demolition, and replacement by a large Costco store in 2010.
Luckilly, the sign has been saved by the Melrose Park Historical Society. It is currently in storage pending a permanent place to display it in town.
