Eastbound Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe piggyback train approaching theSouth Pulaski Road overpass bridge. Chicago Illinois. November 1989.

I took this photo way back in November of 1989.

We are facing west from on top of the South Pulaski Road overpass bridge, that spans the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe mainline, the Illinois U.S Route #55 Stevenson Expressway, and the former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad mainline on the near southwest side of Chicago.

An eastbound A,T & S,F piggyback train enroute to nearby Corwith Yard, approaches the bridge. Notice the red and yellow SF locomotives wearing the proposed "Kodachrome" paint scheme from the recently failed merger attempt with the Southern Pacific Railroad in the head end consisit.
