I took this photograph one evening around sunset, way back in early September of 1986.
The Grand Trunk Western Railroad had closed their Elsdon Yard facility in Chicago during October of 1983, however...track removal and other set aside projects would take awhile to actually get around to doing.
This photograph was taken facing south / southeast from adjacent West 51st Street near South Lawndale Avenue, in Chicago's Elsdon neighborhood.
