Preserved Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad 1930 built Baldwin 4-6-4 steam locomotive # 3006. Galesburg Illinois. June 1998., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I took this photograph back in June of 1998, in the western Illinois city of Galesburg.
Proudly on display since the early 1960's after it's own retirement from service, is Baldwin 1930 built 4-6-4 Hudson type steam locomotive # 3006, from the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad.
This locomotive is a centerpiece of the Galesburg Railroad Museum, located on the east side of town. This locomotive pulled fast passenger trains through Galesburg and other midwest towns and citties during the steam era.
