Eastbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train departing from Clearing Yard. Chicago Illinois. January 1987.

I took this photograph way back in January of 1987.

After an all morning heavy lake effect snowstorm had stopped falling on the city of Chicago Illinois, I headed out to Hayford Junction with my 35mm camera, to photograph some images of Chicago winter railroading.

An eastbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train being led by two 1960's era Alco C424 roadswitcher diesel electric locomotives, is viewed departing from the BRC's own Clearing Yard, and approaching Hayford Junction.
