Southbound Norfolk Southern Railroad light engine movement. Chicago Illinois. Early November 1989.

Hi everyone!
This is Eddie K, your host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.

Greetings from the city of Chicago Illinois USA everyone.

I have been an avid railfan and photographer for many years, and I have many happy memories of the various trains and railroads that operated across the southwest side of Chicago I grew up with.

I took this photograph, way back in November of 1989.

We are on location at a place known as Nerska Junction at the Chicago city limits, at the border of west suburban Cicero Illinois.

A Norfolk Southern Railroad locomotive is viewed heading southbound and traveling light, over the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks. The locomotive is shown crossing the bridge over the Chicago sanitary and Ship Canal near west 40th Street, east of South Cicero Avenue on a sunny late autum afternoon.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
