A delicious thin crust Chicago style pizza topped with sausage,Pepperoni, and Green Peppers.

I thought that I would toss in this very appetizing photograph on today's posting.

A local food favorite amongst southside Chicagoans and most Chicagoans for that matter, is an Italian comfort food entree known as Pizza.

I took this photograph a few years ago, at the Home Run Inn Pizzeria Restaurant, located at 6221 South Archer Avenue in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood near Midway Airport.

Home Run Inn started out in 1945, as a little neighborhood street corner tavern on West 31st Street across from a city park, that served really good pizza. I wen't to the original tavern Home Run Inn as a kid with my family during the 1960's and early 1970's. It was a tiny place, with a huge pizza business..

By the mid 1970's, the old tavern was demolished, and replaced with today's large restaurant and banquet hall on West 31st Street. Eventually, Home Run Inn Pizza was sold in the grocery stores frozen food section, and the business would expand in to today's franchise chain store location.

For all of the out of town readers of Eddie's Railfan Page living in other citties and states...if You ever visit Chicago, be sure to check them out. You'r taste buds won't be sorry.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
