The White Castle Hamburgers restaurant at South Odgen and Harlem Avenues. Berwyn Illinois. Thursday, March 6th, 2013.

Hi everyone!

Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

A popular topic all on it's own beside the many trains and transportation photos that are seen here on My blogsite...is actually food.

I took this photograph last week Wednsday night, in west suburban Berwyn Illinois.

Seen here at the northeast corner of South Ogden and Harlem Avenues, is the locally popular White Castle Hamburgers fast food restaurant. This particular White Castle franchise location, has been here as long as I can remember, going back to my own childhood during the early 1970's.

The original White Castle building that stood here and actually went right up to the corner, was demolished during the 1980's, and replaced by this building seen in the photograph. This is still a very busy White Castle store location today.

Thanks.
Eddie K.

In the book "Grinding it Out," Ray Kroc of McDonald's fame said that this White Castle, where he would go for burgers after dances as a kid, was where he first became aware of the hamburger patty.
