A Southern Pacific bay window caboose passing through Nerska Junction. Chicago Illinois. Early November 1989.

I took this photograph on location at Nerska Junction, way back in early November of 1989.

A pleasant surprise that afternoon, was a Southern Pacific Railroad bay window caboose, bringing up the rear of a northbound Norfolk Southern Railroad transfer train.

This train is heading northbound over the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks, and crossing the long since decommisioned swing bridge over the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal east of Cicero Illinois.
