Charging upgrade in northwest Indiana. The Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana USA. June 1994.

One of My all time Favorite operating tourist railroads, is the Hesston Steam museum located in Hesston Indiana near the Michigan State Line. Located in Northwestern Indiana near the citties of New Buffalo Michigan, and nearby Michigan City Indiana, this museum offers displays of antique tractors, fire equipment, and operating steam powered narrow guage train rides. Seen here is a 1940 Vintage European Meter Guage (U.S 2 Foot Guage) industrial 0-4-0T steam locomotive from Czechloslovakia. The train has just left the Hesston junction depot, and is now charging upgrade under load conditions letting off plenty of coal smoke and cinders from the stack.
The Hesston steam Museum's dual Guage 2 and 3 foot railroad, operates on a hilly profile.
