Westbound Canadian Pacific transfer train waiting for clearance at Cragin Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. Febuary 2007.

I took this photo during the Febuary 13th , 2007 Chicagoland snowstorm. Looking east from the Metra Grand /Cicero commuter rail station, we see a soon to be westbound CP Rail transfer train waiting for clearance to depart from Belt Railway of Chicago tracks, to the CP Rail ex Milwaukee Road mainline. Cragin Junction is the north terminal and interchange for the Belt Railway of Chicago.

Eddie,

Can trains go east from here off the BRC, or just west as shown?

Hi Anthony!
I was looking at a Google Earth Map just recently. It looks like it is just west at Cragin Junction. The trains traveling east of there, are pretty much just Metra commuter trains going to and from Chicago Union Station.

Thank You.

Ah, yes, Google Earth, should've checked myself. In fact, just a couple months ago after reading one of your posts about either the IHB or the GTW, I followed Google Earth from Elsdon Yard toward the east and saw that the old passenger line tracks peter out well before their old connection with the C&WI.
